Sophie's Blessing

It is nearly impossible to get a good family picture these days! The twins can be a little wild!

Grandma Finlinson giving Sophie loves before heading to church! She was a little angel during her blessing!

So much has been going on lately that I know there is no way I can catch up on this blog! So I am just going to start blogging with the most recent event. Sweet little Sophie Anne Finlinson was blessed this past Sunday by her wonderful father Rob! I love baby blessings! It is the first of three significant events that will happen to Sophie that require a very special white dress! She was absolutely beautiful on her special day! We were blessed to have so many family and friends in attendance for her big moment! Thank you everyone for coming and supporting our family! We love you all! Here are just a few of the pictures of sweet little sophie! She is getting big!

Just a few random lists of holiday favorites!
Holiday Music:
1. Carpenters Christmas- a classic

3. NSYNC- Oh the memories of high school...Merry Christmas, and Happy Holidays!
4. Michael Buble- "My grown up Christmas list"

Christmas music is the best...I love it all!
Holiday Traditions:
1. Gingerbread house competition- I pretty much win every year...my siblings always underestimate my skills!
2. Christmas cards: I love to receive Christmas cards! It is the only time of year that I get mail that does not ask me to pay something.
3. Holiday Parties! I can not wait to see all of Rob's family at Luella's Christmas Eve party! We have not been able to attend the last few years and we are really looking forward to it! We have been singing Christmas songs with the girls every night in preparation! Oh and I can't wait to dress my girls up in their Christmas outfits!
4. PJS! I look forward to a new pair of PJs every year!

Holiday FOOD:
1. Hot Chocolate: I really drink this year around, but it tastes really good at Christmas!
2. Candy canes: All the different flavors and an easy to hold stem. Perfect.
3. Christmas morning breakfast- Pancakes never taste better!
4. Chocolate covered cherries! My dad's favorite snack always makes an appearance in his Christmas stocking...I always sneak a few!

Happy Thanksgiving

We wish you a very happy, fun, and safe Thanksgiving! We are so grateful this year for the arrival of our three beautiful girls! What a blessing it is to be part of an eternal family! We hope that you are cherishing your own family today! I wish I could list all the other things that I am grateful for this year (there are lots), but all I continue to think about is my family!

Happy Turkey day!

1 year stats!

Camden and Emma went to the doctor this morning! It was so crazy! You should see how they destroy the paper on the exam tables- it is very impressive! Its all fun and games until they get their shots! Then we all cry together all the way home! I just wanted to record their stats so that I don't forget some day!

Camden Finlinson
Weight: 22 pounds 4 oz.
Height: 30 1/2 inches tall

Emma Finlinson
Weight: 22 pounds (we think, she hated the scale today)
Height: 29 1/2 inches

I am happy to report that neither one of them is over weight, despite how chubby they look! They are pretty solid girls!

Happy 1st Birthday- Camden & Emma

Emma right after delivery!
Camden right after delivery!

They came into this world so tiny...and now they are not so tiny! I am just amazed at how much they have changed in one year!!

Getting a picture of the twins together is nearly impossible! We took pictures for an hour and this is all I could get of them together, and individually! Oh well! They are still so cute!

So the girls celebrated their first birthday on Wednesday! It was so much fun! The day started off with Grandma Pam coming over to give them a birthday hug and a few gifts, which included more toy cell phones, and a fun box of blocks. After that Aunt Melanie came over to take them shopping...Melanie has decided that she will take them shopping every year for their birthday! Which is so cute of Mel...but I wonder how many years it will last! She bought them so many toys, including a very loud drum set! Thanks Mel! We ended the day with a family dinner, and a movie. Aunt Jami (Rob's amazing sis) made this incredible movie out of the pictures from our blog over the last year! It makes me cry every time I watch it! So sweet- thanks Jami! We are so blessed! Happy birthday Camden and Emma! I can't believe how fast this year went!

Halloween 2008

Sophie didn't want us taking her picture!
Camden was definitely the Queen Bee for Halloween!
Sophie's Daisy costume was to big for her little body! So she wore her new little pumpkin outfit!

Camden was a little nervous trick or treating, until she saw the candy in her bag!

Emma was a feisty lady bug! Melanie was flying her around my parents neighborhood!

Are they not the cutest little bugs you have ever seen?!

Last year we did not have any children to dress up for Halloween...this year we had three! Isn't that crazy! Rob and I just keep saying that to each other, so that we can face our new reality! I have to admit Halloween lost its effect on me years ago when my Mom told me that I was too old to go trick or treating. I have a new found love for Halloween now that I can take my own little monsters trick or treating!

( I will probably post more pictures from Melanie's camera! They were just too cute not to share!)

Friday.

Quick update on baby girl #3! Unless something happens in the next two days, she will be born on Friday morning. I have a scheduled c-section at 7:30am on Oct. 24th! I can't believe I am actually going to make it close to my due date! After having the twins so early, I didn't know if my body was capable of going full term. Apparently I am! So check back on Friday, hopefully I can get someone to post pictures of her! I don't know what I am more excited about...not being pregnant or seeing my sweet baby! Of course, seeing my sweet baby!

The little darlings...

Emma playing with Austin! She is a little aggressive! She kept hitting him in the head with a plastic soda bottle! Sorry little buddy! We still love you!

Camden doing karoke at Grandma's house! My girls love the microphone!
We have to wear our hats backwards so we do not pull them off!

Just a few snap shots of the girls! I absolutely love the stage the girls are in right now! Everything is new and exciting, and everyday is different! It is pretty much impossible to get the girls to take a picture together. One is always on the move! They were weighed last week at the doctors office, and are quite chubby! Camden is 21lbs 8 oz., and Emma is 21lbs 6 oz. No wonder I have to stop and catch my breath every time I carry them up the stairs! Being pregnant does not help! I love the picture of Camden holding the vacuum! She loves the vacuum, and thinks it is a game to chase it while I am cleaning. Emma on the other hand, hates the vacuum, and is usually crying the whole time it is on. She is also hiding behind the couch, to avoid getting near it! It sometimes surprises me how different the girls really are! I swear I am doing the exact same thing with both of them, but the reactions are always unique. Camden is a very busy girl, and gets into everything she can touch. She will not sit still and talk to me unless she has something really important to say, or wants my attention for a new trick or needs food. She is always smiling and happy to see her parents or her sister! Emma is very dramatic and vocal. She knows how to scream, and demands the attention of everyone in the room. Her verbal skills are impressive, and she loves to fake laugh when anyone else is laughing. She also pretends to pick something off the floor and eat it, so of course I am constantly putting my fingers in her mouth to fish it out. Only to discover there was nothing ever in there! Both girls are moving everywhere, Emma thinks she can walk like Camden sometimes, but really she is not quite there. They are both so much fun to watch! I could not imagine our family without them! Seeing how different they are, makes me wonder how this new little baby will be! We can't wait to meet her! I am sure that she will be just as unique! The big question is will she have blond hair or brown? Good thing we do not have to wait much longer!

Amanda & Rob Finlinson

Amanda & Rob Finlinson

Our Story...

Rob and I met in November of 2002 in the financial services office at BYU. After a very akward introduction, which involved me introducing myself in the third person, Rob called and asked me out. After a pretty amazing first date (its a long story-some other time), I confidently told Rob "that once he dated me he would never want to date anyone else." I really had no idea at that point that it was going to work out so well. We dated for the next five months and then one beautiful night on a bridge at Sundance resort, Rob and I got engaged. We were married four months later on August 16, 2003 in the Las Vegas, NV temple. And we have been living happily ever after since...
